JavaRuntime and Firefox.

I'm trying to install JavaRuntime into my Firefox Browser but after it apparently downloads, the procedure is stopped after getting a message saying that the package could not be opened.

Any ideas?

Go to tools, options, web options, and tick, "allow websites to install software".

sorry, that should read, "web options"

Thanks for your reply but I have ticked "allow websites to install software".

Any other suggestions?

I've seen this problem before, but can't for the life of me, remember how it was resolved.

I take it enable java, and enable javascript, are both ticked.?

Yes both those options are ticked!

have you got sun java, on your p.c. If so you will not need to do anything else.

click here If you have not, and download the J2SE (core/desktop).

Firefox will automatically use this as required.

Thanks again but I don't think I have J2SE installed but after clicking on your link I found the page quite confusing. Anymore quick tips?

Yes, went to the link and downloaded but again at the end of the process the message said that the package could not be opened... very strange?
