Java Update Probs.

  Conny 21:01 03 Feb 2010

The past couple of times I have tried to install Java Updates they have failed to install.
I get the following message;
Error 25099. Unzipping core files failed.
The latest update is Java 6 Update 17.
Any help to sort this would be most appreciated.

Looks like Update 18 is the latest.
There is a Java removal tool so maybe get that and run it then install the latest version.

After removal do I go to the Java website for the latest download. Do I really need Java on my PC?

I find that I can only install Java updates from the administrator account. When you are informed that an update is available, try logging on as an administrator and go to the Sun Microsystems site to download the update.

p.s. It's probably your security settings which prevent the download, you could try adding sun Microsystems as a trusted site to prevent future problems.
