For no apparent reason I have become unable to view Java applets. Each time i load a page with a java applet the sun logo apears with a blank loading bar which quickly disapears to be replased with a small x in the top left corrner of the applet. No matter what browser I use Firefox 22.214.171.124, IE 6 or Opera 4 the same thing occurs. I am using the latest JRE and am running windows XP Pro.
clear java cache 1. From the Start button, click Settings > Control Panel 2. In the Control Panel, open the "Java Plug-in Control Panel" 3. Select the Cache Tab 4. Click the Clear button inside the Cache Tab, which will clear your JRE cache directory
Although this may work it is my understanding that the MS VM is no longer supported and it does not work with Firefox. As Firefox is my primary browser installing MS VM won't really resolve the problem. I shall install the MS version to see if it works with IE anyway. I'd prefer to continue using the Sun JRE. Thanks for the help though.
I had a lot of recent problems with JRE,and solved it with this click here Download the registry optimiser version (free trial unlimited) Tick all boxes and scan, this version will repair 10 errors at any one time.
I like it and has helped repair several peoples problems in the past.
