having changed machines and re installed itunes, things have got confused and some tracks are held on c drive and some on external hdd and itunes will not now play them.
Any ideas how to solve this.

best advice i can give is go to the ilounge site it does everything ipod tutorials and help forum

You need to Authorise the PC to play the media.
In iTunes go to Advanced>Store>Authorise Computer
You are only allowed to authorise 5 PCs.
If you even change the CPU (like I did) it counts as a different PC.

Open up i-tunes, click edit, preferences and then Advanced tab. Then under the General tab you can select where your i-tunes music folder will be located. You can click on the right to change it to your external hard drive. Click okay. Copy over any other music and drop it into this file on your external drive. So the i-tunes programme runs from your machines C drive but it points to your external drive to find the music.

yes tried that and it retrieved some albums but not all.
think will have to reload cds
