hello guys hear me out..

my notebook runs on win7 home premium 64bit upon purchasing.. 2 months later i reformat it to a PIRATED win8.1.. after experiencing how troublesome pirated windows is, i am planning to reverb to my genuine win7 home premium using the license i got upon purchasing. the question is, is it possible to get my genuine win7 home premium back? and how is that?

Thank you so much..

What make and model is your notebook? Is there a COA sticker on the case with a W7 product key on? (25number/digits in 5 sets of 5) that you can use with a W7 DVD install?

Or if you hopefully didn't wipe the hidden factory restore partition you may be able to use that to restore to how it was when it left factory.

ASUS X550DP and yes, i have windows 7 home premium product key.. but i didn't get any DVD upon purchasing.. only the product key..

And how do i restore the original partition?

If the hidden restore is still there: Power on or reboot the ASUS laptop. When the ASUS logo screen appears, press "F9" to access the hidden partition. click here

Asus support site click here

Asus press F9 click here

I think that you can still download Win 7 Home Premium Click Here if the download link still works then download the version you need (32/64bit) and burn it to a disc. You can then install it on your laptop using the key that you have.

after i key in my product key, i got an error stating "The product key you've entered appears to be for software which was pre-installed by the device manufacturer".. ughhh what should i do?

Having Googled your problem I came up with this alternative download site Click Here I have previously used it only for Win 10 but you can try it and see if it works. Make sure you download the correct version for your PC.
