I have had to reinstall Windows XP and all my other software onto PC following it crashing. Now when I log on I get the message:-

"I/O operation initiated by registry failed unrecoverablye. The registy could not read, out or flush one of the files that contains the systems image of registration".

What am I doing wrong? Can anyone help please?

Your profile is corrupt

Can you log on as another person who has admin rights?

If not then boot to safe mode (f8during start up)

Log in using the administrator log in and create a new user .

Once in as the new user you can drag all your favourites and adrress book etc. from your old user name into the new user name.

This has helped but I am having other problems. I will try to find a solution but may end up having to create another thread with new problem.
