Hi,

Rebuilt Win98SE for the children and EXCEL is the only product giving an invalid page fault when I try to launch it - all other Office 97 products work ok.

What does this all mean?

EXCEL has caused an invalid page fault in module EXCEL.EXE at 0167:30007e68.

Invalid Page faults are related to memory. It's not the fairly random data that produces the list that you need to decode it's the program or file mentioned in the first line that gives you the clue - it's one of those error messages that is mostly useless for fixing. Possibly more than one program is completing for the same allocated share of memory which may be your "virtual memory" rather than your physical memory (though overheating can cause them - more rarely) . Some programs are more prone to this kind of error than others.

Usually they occur after you have made software or configuration changes. Often reinstalling the offending software will cure the problem. It may also relate to a lack of free hard disk space allocated for swap files - temporary files that help to speed up tasks.

Thanks Patr100 & JoeC.

I decided to re-install as Microsofts answer did not provide the solution.

Thanks again.
