internet security with XP

I have windows XP. Is the security provided by Microsoft sufficient or do you think I should add extra? I was provided with MacAfee free for 3 months and this expires this month. Do you think I should continue with it.

You need anti-virus and firewall as a minimum. If you don't want to stick with McAfee then AVG and Zone Alarm are both free and excellent click here click here

Get AVG anti virus (free) click here Windows defender (free)click here
and any free firewall. You could also add spybot as a reserve click here (also free)

These will be more than enough + common sense to protect you. There is no point in going overboard with spyware 'protection' and there is no earthly reason for a home user to pay for any of this protection.

try google pack. it comes with a 6 month licence for norton 2005 and adaware and firefox lat time i checked which will all go a long way to protecting your pc. a firewall is also a must as the windows firewall is well about as usless as a choclate fireguard as it only monitors incoming traffic!
