Internet Options Menu is Disabled

Hi,

Could anyone suggest a workaround for this problem?

Clicking on Internet Options within IE & control panel gives the following error "The operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this computer. Please contact your system administrator."

I have installed policy editor, but there are no restrictions shown for IE! Also, I'v followed MS KB Article 823057, and changed the following registry key "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions" NoBrowserOptions to 0 as suggested.

Interestingly the reg key "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Restrictions" did not exist!

Could this be the problem? Has a virus or such like deleted this key?

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated!

Many thanks,
Simon.

PS. It's a running Win98 SE.
