Internet Games through a Router

I've just set up a home network using a modem/router to connect all the computers together and provide internet access. I often play games over the internet using battle.net and have found that people are unable to join my games, although I can join other peoples.

Does anyone know a way around this problem. Any help is most welcome.

On mine, I had to set up a DMZ for y computer's IP address before i could join or host games.

i wouldnt use dmz, it allows total access, which means hackers can gain access very easily.

From the battle.net forum it seems i have to open up some ports on the router. I think they are called Virtual Server Ports.

enabling DMZ is fine as long as you have a firewall on your computer. Connecting your modem directly to the computer is just as vunreable as going through a router using DMZ.
