There are so many possibilities.
Is there a reason for sticking with IE6 ?

There was a major update for I/Explorer last week from Microsoft.Have you ran the updates recently.
Maybe download Firefox and use that temporarily.
Or update to IE7 or IE8.

I had IE6 freezing on a lappy after 1 hr use.
With the lappy turned off I blew down the air out vent and the dust that came out of the air input fan nearly choked me, but it cured it - should have taken it to the garden to do.
A lot of folk have probs with IE 8. IE 7 seems to be OK. David

Thank you all for your replies, checking I actually have explorer 7.
Culprit seems to be Mcfee, recently changed(removed)from Norton when it expired.

I never had any problems running McAfee with XP and IE 6,7,and 8. Been on IE8 since it came out. Recently changed to Norton I.S. 2010 though as it is reputedly better. Suggest you change to IE8 and see how it goes.
