Internet Explorer Script Error Message

  Durko 13:49 31 Jan 2010

After booting pc up and logging onto internet through Virgin, I get the following message in a box when searching sites:

Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage.(I get this message at the very top of the page)then all the below.

Internet Explorer Script Error
An Error has occurred in the script in this page
Line 16
Char 1
Error Object Expected
Code 0
URL Res://reframe.dll/dnserror.htm

Do you want to continue running scripts
Yes No

If I click on yes it lists all choices but at the very top of the page it still reads:
Internet Explorer Cannot Display the Webpage. Then as usual reveals the site clicked on.

I'm using IE7 if it helps.

Can anybody offer any soultions to this persistent problem.

Try this...

In IE7 > Tools > Internet Options > Advanced tab.

Under 'Browsing' put a tick in:

Disable script debugging (Internet Explorer)
Disable script debugging (Other)

Remove tick from:

Display a notification about every script error

Click on Apply, OK.

Btw, IE8 click here is now out. G

Internet options advanced settings are already set as you advised.

I now get the same message box as described but also get this one too.

Line 17
Char 2
Error Object Expected 0
url res:ieframe.dll./syntax.htm

Any suggestions?

Could be adware/malware of some sort.

What security/antispyware programs do you use?

Download, install & run MBAM click here. G

Apologies for not replying sooner. I went back and applied the settings again in internet options and ran malware and other stuff etc. Pleased to say everything seems back to normal again.

Thanks again for the help.
