Internet Explorer 6 not in Add/Remove Programs

I have experienced problems with several web pages giving me a massage that there are errors on them. I have checked these web pages on a separate computer and they load properly, giving no error messages. I suspect IE6 so I went to Add/Remove programs to see if it would fix. It's not in the list and I think it should be. System is W2K.
Any thoughts?

You can Use the System File Checker tool to scan all of the protected files on your computer:
Click Start, and then click Run.
In the Open box, type sfc /scannow, and then click OK. Have the installation disk in the drive first.

On second thoughts you will have to type command in the box and then type SFC /scannow

Win2K runs this from a command prompt

Im on 98se but I can repair I/E 6 by doing the following, this saves the need to uninstall and reinstall.

START/PROGRAMS/ACCS

SYSTEM TOOLS/SYSTEM INFO

TOOLS/INTERNET EXPLORER REPAIR TOOL

You then have 3 choices. Add component: Repair IE: Restore previous config.

Hope this helps you out.

Internet Explorer will not be in add/remove programs if you have installed service pack 2000, if you have installed the service pack and all else fails then un-install the pack and IE6 will reappear in add/remove progs. You can then use the fix option from there, and re-install SP2K
