Honor 9 Lite review
I know I've did something stupid-but I can't get on the internet or use my email (incredimail).I've tried shutting down firewalls, but this makes no difference. The error that appears on Mozilla Firefox page:-
The connection to the server was reset while the page was loading.
The network link was interrupted please try again.
Can anyone help?
Power off the modem/router and the computer
Power on the modem/router wait untill all lights is on than power on the computer
Open firefox and try internet access
I did as suggested, but still have the same error-this is on desktop PC with direct broadband connection, my laptop which is wireless was always OK!
P.S. I tried combination's of switching off and on.
Seeing that the wireless Internet access is working check that you LAN card set up is correct
Start – Setting - Control Panel - Select- Internet Options-Connection Tab
In the “Connection” screen, there are three selections:
“Never dial a connection”,
“Dial whenever a network connection is not present”
“Always dial my default connection”.
If you can make a selection, select “Never dial a connection”.
If you cannot make a selection, select “LAN Settings”
Un-Tick marks next to any of the displayed Options:

your knowledgeable suggestion still does not work-if I were to remove the broadband connection and wipe the PC completely, would I then be able to get an internet connection?
Before doing that I would try Last Known Good Configuration and/or a System Restore
Tried system restore 2 days back,4 days back and 28 days back, but still had the same fault. Next I removed the broadband connection and uninstalled "Avast"-this left me without virus protection, I then connected up the broadband and tried to get on internet and was given the same error message!
