Internet connection constantly deleted

Hi guys
My problem is that each time i switch my computer on, my internet connection is not in the networks connection folder. My ie icon and Tiscali icon is there and will only allow me to work offline. I set up a new connection manually and can work fine until i switch the computer off and switch it on the next day, where i find that the connection i have made is deleted. I have scanned my computer with norton 2009, spybot, sophos rootkit but i've found no viruses. I'm intending to use Windows Live Onecare check tomorrow.
This also seems to be affecting my hp printer also as it wants to install a missing piece of software from the disc each time i switch on.
I use tiscali broadband and a speedtouch modem and i've not had any service problems from them at all.
I get the feeling that there has to be some kind of malware or denial of service action going on here.
Any help would be much appreciated
