Internal 250W power with only 3 " CDrom" cables

Be grateful for advice: just opened up a PC to add an internal DVDrom and found I only have three power cables of the right size, not the usual four! As the three are taken up with two HDs and a CDRW I can't add the DVD player....or can I? I think I'll have to buy another power supply? The current one is 250W.

YuP!!

New power supply needed I think. In truth, don't know about the cables but I do know 250 is a tad minimal for most of todays users. Indeed I doubt you can still buy'em?

If no help .. puts your Q to the top at least.

You could buy a Y power splitter to overcome the problem.click here
Look for 5 1/4 to 5 1/4 Power splitter click on it to see what they look like

Spot on with both comments ...I will get a splitter until I get round to replacing power unit.
Much obliged for help

I bought a Y splitter....works a treat. Many thanks for the advice. Will upgrade power unit at a later date......probably too late ie when it dies lol)
