int or ext hard drive

im pondering wether to go for a internal or external hard drive,i would like 500gb of extra space.
Which option do you recommend internal or external?

External definitely.

Large hard drives always seem to fail if they are internal. Too much stress I suppose.

If your comfortable fitting the drive internally....go for it,i find an internal drive more reliable than an external.

Now there's a conflict of interest CLONNEN Lol.

External would be better for a drive that size, in case a catastrophic Windows crash corrupts data if it was an internal drive. Then there's the security issues, better to have an easily detachable drive where you can store all your important docs and pictures.

To me it depends what you want to use it for, if its to run programs on etc then an internal one in my opinion would be best and you could take out the old internal one, put it in a hard drive enclosure and have that as a backup.
Heres an example of a hard drive enclosure click here
