Installing XP Home on a seperate partition

  homer4god 06:19 02 Jul 2004

I am installing a new HDD and moving the old one to another system.

I have an OEM version of XP home and want to install it on a small partition so it is quicker to get to if I needed. I have the memory of a goldfish and am always loosing thing, at least this way I would be able to re install XP if the worst happens and I couldn't find the disc.

I have installed Windows (the full range) a few times in the past but just from CD and want to give this a try.

If anyone can steer me in the right direction to do this it would be greatly appreciated.

Install WinXP, get all updates, install the basic software you want / need.

Create an image with, say, Norton Ghost or Drive Image click here

Save the image to CD.

Use it for future installations.

Simple :-}
