Installing software on Virtual Machine

  Clive of India 09:58 07 Dec 2016

Hi guys

My computer is running with Windows 10 and has Windows XP set up on it as a virtual machine. I’ve got a Vauxhall parts catalogue for the old Omega on DVD but when I try to install it I get a message saying it will not run on Windows 10.

Can someone tell me the procedure to install it using the virtual machine.

Thanks for your help

With the dvd in the drive and XP open can you use Windows Explorer to see the dvd and install from there.

You may need to specify PASSTHROUGH when installing the CD drive to the VM. I usually copy any CD to an ISO and point the virtual cd drive at that as it is both faster and saves loading the CD every time.
