Installing secong operating system

Hi

I am looking for some advice on how to install linux as a second operating system.

I currently have two hard drives on my PC and am running windows XP as my operating system. I would like to add Linux on to my other hard drive and run it as a second OS. Any advice and tips would be much appreciated for the installation of this
