I have a laptop which has on 20GB HDD space. I would like to try out mandrake linux, & bcoz my internal HDD does not have enough space, i would like to know if it is possible to install the new os on the extrenal HDD. Also i would like to know how do i run the new os from the extenal HDD, & the problems that would come with it.
Thanking everyone in advance.

It will depend on your Linux abilities,if your a "newbie" then I wouldn't recommend you try Linux to external hdd,but instead use a very basic system(RAM/CPU/HDD/floppy/cd-rom)to learn a bit about the Linux way of doing things.
