i have just purchased some extra memory for my laptop and am led to believe that the keyboard needs to be removed by releasing some clips (advent 7012). can anyone give me some more precise help as to how to do this......very grateful

Not the same make as yours but scroll down and look at the pictures, it will give you a pretty good idea click here

Then look at the Advent web site.

Quote the official pages:

Memory Upgrades

1. Remove the keyboard by lifting the 2 small clips at the front of the keyboard with a small screwdriver.
2. Lift the keyboard clear of the notebook, there is a ribbon cable attached to the keyboard so take care.
3. Now lift the metal keyboard protector from the case.
4. You now need to remove the metal cover in the middle of the case.
5. You now have access to the memory slots.

Adding RAM is the most cost effective way to boost your computer's performance. The Crucial Memory Advisor Tool takes the guesswork out of upgrading.
