Installing a DVD writer

  belmore1 15:55 05 Mar 2006

I have DVD-ROM and CDRW Drives on my pc.

I plan to install a DVD Writer. Would it be best to install in the DVD-Rom slot or the CDRW.

Would appreciate some advice on this.

Which ever...

The benefit of two drives is to prolong the life of each... use one for playing and one for recording.

My personal preference would be: replace the CDRW with the DVD Writer as master and keep the DVD ROM as slave. The DVD Writer will also read and write to CD.

My own setup is 2 dvd rewriters.

It'll be better to remove the CD-RW as I'm pretty sure the DVD Writer will be able to write CD-RWs too.

Thanks for the advice. Will remove the CDRW and replace with the DVD writer.
