Hi all.

I am transferring a floppy and a DVD drive from my old computer to a friends computer. I was wondering if this easy enough to do? I have looked inside the computer and it just seem like connecting a few wires but is there more to it? is there any advice anyone can give me before I try it, as I am worried in case I mess anything up.

Any help greatly appreciated.

Thanks

" it just seem like connecting a few wires but is there more to it? "

Yup.

On the DVD drive make sure you set the jumpers to there correct position.

And earth yourself.

OK. Got that.

If a just try to make a note of where everything is in the first place will it be easy enough just to put the wires in the same places or is there anything else to watch out for?

Remember to put the "few wires" in the correct connectors and the right way round. The DVD drive ribbon cable will normally only fit one way but the floppy cable is reversible.

Thanks for that.

I will try it and let you know how I get on. Any advice anyone still has to give is still appreciated.

Thanks
