installed folders with 'security catalog' files..?

in my user folder on vista AND xp, I have 6 seperate folders with "catalog" files-what are they for? They just seem out of place, and are awkwardly named, eg "{28ef490b-6296-43e1-8d97-72a0139be62f}"-im assuming they contain installed windows files and should not be deleted, but that still leaves me wondering why they are placed in my own user folder. thanks for any info-heres a screenshot! click here

ive just reinstalled xp completely, due to all the issues i was having before. ive noticed that after only updating xp to sp2 (i did not install sp3 or any third party programs) that one of these catalog folders similar to those in my image at the top is now present! ms update stated everything installed ok. Its just annoying when in time they start to build up, lol
