Install ME and Upgrade to XP on AMD computer ?

My last two computers had a Windows Millenium O/S and, when I was given a gift of an XP Home upgrade package, I was able to come up to XP Home standard. I've just got a new computer, AMD64 Sempron 3400, and didn't get an O/S installed as I thought I could install my ME disc and then upgrade to XP Home as before but I'm not sure if the new computer spec will allow this.
Is there any way I can install my XP Home upgrade from my ME disc?
Thanks again to the forum in anticipation of a solution!

Install from XP disk, it will ask for a previous OS, just stick the ME disk in and click OK. Then it will ask for the XP disk back and do a full install.

Be aware though that you will only have 1 licence for XP, and your ME licence may be an OEM licence, so is only valid for a machine manufactured by the OEM it was supplied with.
