Inserting "click here" links issue

  ame 17:03 02 May 2010

Why is it that, in recent times, when I paste a link into my postings, it (1) splits into the preceding text so I have to edit before I post, or (2) leaves bits of the original web address behind in the published posting, if you know what I mean? I try leaving extra spaces before the link but that doesn't cure it. I've noticed the 2nd problem with other peoples' posts too.

Contact the 'Forum Editor' with your query.

If the link is too long use something like TinyUrl to shorten it; click here
Before pasting a link make sure the cursor is two spaces after the last letter or full stop etc.

Tried leaving a few spaces before pasting but no joy. Will contact FE depending on responses.

Sometimes the cursor jumps to the last edited word just as you are about to paste a link. Took me a while to notice. Use the left click of the mouse to make sure of the cursor position before pasting. Try experimenting here. ame ame ame

I always paste links in a couple of lines down, and then backspace into position.
