Images as links

From reading this forum, I have gathered that it is good (in terms of search engine friendliness) to use alt> and title> tags.

Whilst I understand why this is, I was wondering if it would have any detrimental affect to have images as links?

I'm guessing that, as far as search engines are concerned, it won't make any difference providing there is an alt> tag for each link.

Is that right?

I thought it was the other way around, title tags for text links and alt tags for images?

I think you've answered my question and nobody has said you're talking tosh!

I am sure that the real experts will know the best way to do this, but the way I do it is as per this example:

<a href="click here"><img border="0" src="picture.jpg" width="222" height="222"></a>

You select the actual picture size you want.

I have found no problem in the robots finding my site.

Sorry, part of it has been changed when posting:

<a href="http:// click here"><img border="0" src="picture.jpg" width="222" height="222"></a>

leave out the spaces after http://

Still a problem:

where is says "click here", you enter the link to your page.
