When trying to run a fire safety cd rom on our training pc we keep getting the following fault message coming up and the program shuts down - anyone any ideas as it would be greatly appreciated as training course on tomorrow:

What O/S are you running it on & what O/s is it meant to be on ? I ask as it may be relevant ,Presumably the training cd has been used in the past ?

This is from click here Star Wars Monopoly. Not the same program but the same message.

I get an error Monopoly caused an invalid page fault in module Dsound.dll when running Monopoly Star Wars.

This is usually caused by older sound card drivers that have not been tested with Directx 5. Contact your sound card manufacturer to obtain the latest DirectX compatible drivers for your system.

The pc is running Windows 98 and according to the cd rom it is compatible with all operating systems and works perfectly on every other pc in the building but the one we need it on.

Can you confirm its that same Cd you try on the other machines & it run Ok There has to be something amiss on that single machine if thats the case....the easiest solution would be change rooms ..Im joking honestly ..LOL

Have you tried updating either the sound card driver or DirectX on this PC?
