IE8 Freezes

I have noticed this a number of times. I have Windows 7 and when I open a new tab and just before the tab display completes I open the Home list (drop down arrow next to the Home picture - I have several home tabs which open when I start IE8), IE8 freezes and I have to force shut it down.

Any solutions to this (jolly annoying if you are doing other things in the other tabs)?

Use Firefox instead...

That's not an option for me.

Maybe try Tools.Internet Options.Advanced and press reset. That resets Internet Explorer to its original state.
You may have to enable a few of your add-ons after it.
Not sure if that is your problem but worth a try if nothing else helps.

Try this:
Tools, Options, Programmes tab, Manage Add Ons button, then DISABLE Shockwave Flash add on. Some people have had conflicts with this on W7 64bit, it worked for me.

I agree with buteman, as you enable your add ons, if you get the problem reoccuring on any one, then you will know what is causing the problem.

Thanks, I will look into these settings.
