IE7 Prints extra Blank Page

  first500 12:36 29 Aug 2008

I have just installed the PCA recommended printer (Lexmark X4875). Very annoyingly it prints an extra blank page when printing from IE7 and Outlook Express. A way of stopping this would make this a perfect printer.

Thanks in advance for help

The solution found by RFB is "On the Advanced tab under Properties, make sure "Print directly to the printer" is selected".

Unfortunately, even though I have full admin rights, an error message comes up "Printer settings could not be saved. Operation could not be completed". This change is apparantly not allowed by this driver.

If it helps, I believe that IE and OE use the same settings. Could the answer lie there?

Anyone else got a solution?

Check the printer properties and look for something like print separator page and disable it.

You might have to re-install the software/driver to get access to the properties.

There is no option to disable the Print Separator. There is a box to allow a file to be printed between pages, but the box is blank.

Yes - it is a shared printer

Do a quick check of your services and make sure that the Server service is set to startup automatically and is running.

all the settings should be in Printer Folder under Properties

Also before printing in IE go to File\Print Preview, as that lets you change settings
