Icon in system tray not booting up properly.

Whenever I boot up the Norton AV icon in the sys.tray has a red X over it until the very end of the bootup and then it runs. It never used to do this so is there any adjustment I can make to get it to run as soon as it appears as I am concerned that I might be at risk from infection while booting up. Or am I being unduly worried? I have run scans and no infection was found. My OS is XPHome sp2.

I don`t use Norton gear but some of the others usually ask, during set up, if you`d like them to run during boot up. Has Norton got that facility? Sorry, but it`s the only help I can offer.

Thank you bluto1, sorry for delay in relying. Yes it does have that facility and is already ticked to activate it. Many thanks for replying.

Before I saw the light (LOL) I had NIS 2000 to 2003, and they were to varying degrees slow to activate on boot up.
