I needed a file

On a sick computer (Left with DOS only) yesterday I needed a essential windows system file, and whilst I could access my CD drive (F)in DOS it could not find the file for me to extract/copy from the Windows ME original disk. Should this have been possible or am I missing something.

What is the name of the file?

Hi VoG
The file was Vmm32.vxd.

I managed to resolve the situation by re-installing windows ME (not the preferred option)

I was asking the question just in case I should ever be in a similar situation again

If you are in a similar situation again go to click here and type in

Vmm32.vxd windows me download

(substitute appropriate filename) and Search.

In this case I found click here - hover cursor over "VxD fix 4" to see the solution.
