i got my Geforce FX5200 BUT.. it will not fit into my computer because i only have 4 pci slots and no agp slots (is that right agp) what can i do except from send the item back

bring it back and exchange it for a pci graphics card or purchase a new motherboard with an agp slot.

  ahales42 22:29 08 Dec 2003

is your card pci or agp? you sure you don`t have an agp slot? it`s the brown one.

Sell it. Of course if it is brand new and boxed you will a decent sum for it: £35 I would say.

It costs me £39 to get a brand new one from the stockists, an Asus one.

well i got it for 53 and it is a Geforce Fx5200 Gpu with 128ram with TV out/dvi otes technology and i am sure i have not got a abg slot cos my pc is a new one and i know what one looks like and why a new mother bored i just got this pc

"and i am sure i have not got a abg slot cos my pc is a new one"

If the motherboard is new then it will have an AGP slot.

  hugh-265156 23:07 08 Dec 2003

aida32 will tell you if you have an agp slot or not click here

download and install the personal version and click:

"motherboard" then on the right look at the info for "expansion slots"

if its a new computer as you say you should have an agp slot.

its just as quick to whip of the side and have a look.

I might be wrong but usually but not always some motherboards share the last PCI slot. IE there is a smaller slot to the right of the last PCI slot, which the AGP board fits.

A really stupid question...is there an AGP slot, but it's partly hidden/in use by an existing card?

I'm just very surprised a new computer/MoBo doesn't have one!

  Stuartli 09:03 09 Dec 2003

From memory that's the method my Elite mobo uses.

Something has gone wrong! If it is a new pc then it SHOULD have an AGP slot. If have been sold one w/o, then you have been conned.
