I can't enable windows XP write to CD

Hi to all,
I'm not bored with my PC yet.
I recently had a Panasonic DVD writer installed and the supplied ram driver has diabled XP's ability to write to CD.I was only made aware that this had happened afterinstalling the driver, when a readme file popped up after installation. If i remember correctly,i used to see an option to enable"Allow this device to write to CD",in the properties of my normal CD write, but this option has now gone.
Is there any other way to enable this function.
I have already removed the RAM drive and have no problems recording to DVD-R.
Thanks in advance.

dont know if this will work

but goto your drive that you use and right click it and choose properties

then recording tab

make sure the box is ticked enable cd recording with this device

Thanks [email protected],
but as i said this option has gone since installing and uninstalling the ram driver.
I now get a different properties box without this option.
