Huge numbers of Undeliverable email messages

Is my PC infected or has my email address been "stolen"?

My email address has the format [email protected]. This is the only valid address for my email, I am the only user. However, my ISP does allow
multiple other names all of which are [email protected].

Every day I receive dozens of messages from various companies' email systems
addressed to [email protected] telling me that messages sent from "anothername" are undeliverable. I have not sent any of these messages. There are numerous other name prefixes being used.

No infection is found on my PC by numerous A-V and anti-spyware programmes.

Everything is up-to-date, patched, etc. Even when my PC has been offline for a few days, these messages still arrive.

Has my email address been "stolen" and used by a spammer? How can I stop these messages?

The email address shown here is not the actual email address, only an example. Alan

You might like to have a look at this click here .

It was posted some time ago now, but it seems very similar to the problems you are now suffering with.
