Recently, my computer has begun to generate message windows - particularly when I am online. They warn that there is a problem with the computer, and suggest that I connect to a website to solve the problem. There are three or four different sites named, but none are ones that I am familiar with.

These messages appear whether I use Internet Explorer or Firefox, and I've use Spybot, Ad-aware and Norton to protect my computer which runs on Windows 2000. one of the messages rreads as follows:

Message from SYSTEM to ALERT on (date)(time)

STOP! WINDOWS REQUIRES IMMEDIATE ATTENTION.

Windows has found 47 CRITICAL SYSTEM ERRORS!

To fix the errors please do the following:
1. Download Registry Repair from: click here
2. Install Registry Repair
3. Run Registry Repair
4. Reboot your computer
FAILURE TO ACT NOW MAY LEAD TO DATA LOSS AND CORRUPTION!

Any ideas?
