I have a second hand Hp 4100n printer and a hp 1100c printer. I have been told its possible to to run the 1100 through the printer port andd the 4100 as a network printer using a cross over cable . The printer has a jetdirect card installed. I am using win 98 and unlike xp I cant seem to get it to install a network printer.
Does anyone know if this is possible and if so detailed instructions.

Thanks in advance

You could network the printer to your pc but it is probably far less hassle to install a second printer port (PCI).

Thanks for the link mate, I was able to download
the HP network printer wizard and can now print to the 4100 via a cross over network cable and the 1100 via the printer port. This function not only allows me to print simultaeneously bot will prevent further head injuries from banging my head against shelving whilst blindly trying to change printer cables.
Thanks again
