Hello, my friend's laptop is showing 4 exclamation marks in Device Manager, please see here:
Does this mean the drivers are missing please?
Sorry, i meant here:
Device manager, view tab, show hidden devices. What is showing there? Might be uninstalled printers or something similar.
Hi again, i have just done that+nothing extra appears, just the same as before? What on earth can they be?
Oh and when the laptop starts up i get 4 messages stating that it cannot find the drivers for them?
Can anyone help please?
I got something like that with a mobile phone connected that wasn't recognised. Can you not uninstall each unidentified device? System restore point first.
If you can let people know the exact model of your friend's HP laptop.

Sorry for that- it is a HP DV6500 Notebook PC
Perhaps i should uninstal each one and then see what happens......
Hi again, ok i have uninstalled the four of them and everything seems to be working ok?
Is this alright? What on earth could it be?
Uninstalled peripherals that left some legacy. Once removed from device manager then registry cleared.
