I have just purchased an mp3 player. How do I change cd tracks to mp3. I am using Windows Media Player, and just downloaded Winamp.

To convert CDs to MP3 format using MediaPlayer you need a special plugin / regictry change.

Easier to use Apples iTunes although it is a 20Mb download.

Do a search on google for MP3 convertors - the web is littered with them.

PS CDex is one I used a lot and like it a lot - before getting iTunes at least.

I have Nero as my burning software, this can also convert your audio tracks to mp3's.

I use FreeRip. i think there is a link to it on the PC advisor website under downloads. It is only about 800KB in size as well. encodes up to 328kbps, or something like that. check it out.
