How to Uninstal XP and new file system?

I have a six year old PC and have upgraded to ME and now mistakenly to XP. This does not suit all the software/hardware I need to run so I need to revert back to ME. How do I uninstal XP and revert to the previous file system? Obviously I need to upgrade my system (camera as well) but cannot afford to do that just yet. I have already run XP compatability tests and camera software and a card reader which will not function under XP.

Did you convert the file system to NTFS from FAT32 when you upgraded to XP?

If you did then there is no way to convert back to FAT32.

The only way to get back to Me is to format yuor disk and re-install from scratch.

When you installed XP was it a clean install or an upgrade?

Please reply in threads, it makes it easier for people who have the same problem to see the result.

via e-mail:

"Unfortunately I converted to NTFS. I am quite happy to format my C drive but how do get back to DOS to do it?"

Fruit bat's link explains how to do it
