how to transpose in excell

I have 8.1 os. in excell I need to transpose some 50 rows to a column. The fx function only brings up the first entry of the line and ignores the remainder of the array even in a test run of 4 entries. What should I do?

There is an easy way to convert your rows to columns and vice versa using the Transpose feature in Excel. We’ll show you how.

Select the cells containing the headings and data you want to transpose.

Thanks. After much trial and error and searches your method worked straight away. So, why does Microsoft not supply the answers to its software? -- Much appreciated

Well MS do free tutorials, but it is sometimes harder to find the specific function you want. I learnt mine by going to evening college twice a week for a year. Afraid I've forgotten quite a lot of it now LOL.
