just got this on my PC (running XP). My MS essentials started detecting lots of these. Spent ages scouring help pages about how to get rid of it. Found secret squirrel's advice on here responding to rachel's post. I have followed secret sq advice doing system restore (had same problem as rachel - would'nt do it in safe mode so I did in in normal mode) will post my results as I may need more help.
Thanks for clear 'tech free' advice and instruction
Click Start, right-click My Computer, and then click Properties.
In the System Properties dialog box, click the System Restore tab.
Click to select the Turn off System Restore check box. Or, click to select the Turn off System Restore on all drives check box.
When you receive the following message, click Yes to confirm that you want to turn off System Restore:
You have chosen to turn off System Restore. If you continue, all existing restore points will be deleted, and you will not be able to track or undo changes to your computer.
Do you want to turn off System Restore?
After a few moments, the System Properties dialog box closes.
Download malwarebytes by clicking on the link "malwarebytes" (in blue) in my last post.
Install malwarebytes let it update and run it then run MSE let both programs clean out any infected files.
