How to remove second windows installation

I would like to know if there is a special way I should go about deleting a second windows installation. I installed a second installation on my secondary hard drive (E:) while trouble shooting my computer. Now when I boot up, my pc tries to default to that version and I have to select the second option for it to boot up the original installation. I am now on my C: drive and i would like to know how i should go about deleting that second windows. Here is what my boot.ini looks like;

[boot loader]
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

open boot.ini with notepad

save as boot.old

delete the line

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(2)\WINDOWS="Microsoft Windows XP Professional" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect

and save as boot.ini

reboot the machine and check it boots to the correct version of windows.

if not then delete boot.ini and open boot.old
delete the other line. and save as boot.ini and retry.
