I am upgrading my cd player to DVD but I am unable to remove the unit from the case. I can move the player out about 1/16 inch but then something seems to be holding it. The computer is Evesham. Can anyone help please?

Usually held in by two or four screws but sometime there are little metal lugs which have been pushed in to secure drive. You can, with a small thin screwdriver, ease the lugs back out.

Side screws usually hold player in the bay.
The data cable power cable and audio cable may be tight. Because of internal arrangements, it may only launch forward. Finally some case types have a one piece facia overall, that has plastic lugs that snap to slots in the matal front plate.
Careful looking and lateral thinking usually solves these little hang ups plus plenty of time and dont be rushed, elso something breaks
