I have microsoft office on my PC, but many lotus word-pro files. Is there any way to read these files without installing lotus.

Many thanks.

I am pretty sure you can then open Lotus documents without the original program. You don`t say which version of word you have but I suggest you type "converters" into help and you should get instructions to open files of other types than .doc

If these files came from other people who use Lotus, ask them in future to save their docs in Rich text Format (RTF). Then you'll be able to open them without problems using Word.

Try opening them with the "Recover text from any file" option.

As far as I know and Have tried you will only open with Lotus Word Pro

Have downloaded the text converters from Ms. and Have managed to open the word-pro files, but the formatting is all over the place. As I have a number of these files to open, I will do as Woodchip suggests and get a copy of Lotus. I'm sure I must have a PC Advisor CD with it on somewhere.

Many thanks for all your help.
