How do I get the ~ above a letter as in Spanish using keyboard.

  powerless 18:37 13 Oct 2003

Alt+0241 (use keypad)

ñ ;-)

When i do that on my Spanish keyboard, it jumps back a page....;-).....ÑÑÑÑÑñññññÑÑÑÑÑ

Or Alt+0209 for the capital letter Ñ

I have a UK and these 2 methods don't work.

Your are using the numeric keypad to the right of the keyboard and not the numbers above the letters.

Also your not pressing the + key are you?

Just press and hold down.

Alt then hit the numeric keypad.

CTRL-SHIFT-~ then n or with caps lock on for N

Hold down Ctrl key and Shift key and then press ~
release all keys and then type n to give ñ or Ñ with caps lock on.

Still not working.

Type n,
then hold down ALT,
Then type 0241 on numeric key.

Hold down LEFT Alt

  Zak 21:10 13 Oct 2003

You need to hold down Alt whilst typing 0241 then release Alt and hey presto.
