took my computer in to be looked at because it was running to slow the expert said i had 60 processes running on start up and it should bebetween 20 to 30.
hes closed some down and got it down to 45 processors but said it was still too much. but said the comp was running a bit faster. when i got it home benchmarking
showed it was no faster. is what he said correct and where can i find out what each process does so i can shut some down? (windows xp home)

Check/disable startup tasks with click here
Autoruns from the first site linked to in my first post shows much more information about startup tasks but is a bit of an information overload.
