How does an HTML excel file work?

If you save a spreadsheet as an html file, can you put it onto a web page (via dreamweaver netobjects etc) and interact with it like a standard excel file?

"publish" it as an HTML files. I considered doing this some years ago for something, (I forget what now!), but was unsuccessful...

The web host need to have suitable MS files hosted for it to work.

Sorry I can't remember the exact requirements!

In theory, yes, what you want should work, but there are limitations, eg Macros don't work, (as far as I recall), and there are formating limitations. And I think that it's limited to s single worksheet.

You might be better using a google doc spreadsheet, if it's not part of a commercial site.

Good luck,
