I like to back up my emails Inbox and Sent Items reguarly.

In Outlook I used to just select them all then drag and drop them into a Backup Folder that I'd created.

The emails remained in Outlook aswell as copying to the New Folder - easy !

Since moving to Mozilla Thunderbird I can't seem to do this ?

There's an Import tab,but apparrently no EXPORT tab?

It won't drag n drop, nor will it copy to a created backup folder in windows Mellenium ?

Any solutions anyone - no doubt it's something really obvious that I,ve missed - DOH!?

Back in a mo - just popping downstairs for some doughnuts.....

If you right click on the inbox folder one of the options is 'copy folder location'. Copy this to a notepad doc and you will be able to find your files. Simply copy to a CD.

Thanks for your help woodt,

Read through the faq link followed by a couple of paracetamol and some head scratching!

Right Clicked the Inbox etc - here is the location of the inbox:

mailbox:/C|/WINDOWS/Application Data/Thunderbird/Profiles/default.plx/Mail/pop.freeserve.com/Inbox

Used the search function aswell as Windows Explorer to locate

"C|/WINDOWS/Application Data/Thunderbird/Profiles/default.plx" OK.

However the next bit

"Mail/pop.freeserve.com/Inbox" doesn't exist !?

Oh well , time for some more doughnuts...

It exists for me.

Search using the keyword:

*.msf

These seem to be thunderbird only files.

Once it's found these files, right click on one of them and choose, Open Containing Folder.

At the address bar delete: Local Folders and press enter.

You should then be able to see a pop.freeserve.com folder.

"Mail/pop.freeserve.com/Inbox" doesn't exist !? - its not a folder, it's a file.

There is a useful program called MozillaBackup which can be used to backup / restore profiles:
